Descendant

The Descendant is the point opposite the Ascendant: the degree of the zodiac that was setting on the western horizon at the moment of birth. It marks the cusp of the seventh house, the house of relationships, marriage, partnerships and open adversaries. It describes what the person seeks in or projects onto others, and the kind of partner or associate they are drawn to. If the Ascendant is in Aries, the Descendant is in Libra, and so on for each axis. Reading both ends together helps to understand the balance between one's own identity and one's bonds.
