About La Bruja
La Bruja is a digital tarot and astrology oracle in Spanish, English and Portuguese. It is made by people and machines: an editorial team writes and reviews the reference texts, and artificial-intelligence models combine them with your question, your cards or your natal chart to give you a personal reading.
What La Bruja is (and is not)
It is a space for personal reflection and entertainment. The meanings of the 78 cards, the signs, planets, aspects and angel numbers are editorial texts reviewed by our team. Oracle readings are generated with AI from those texts and your query.
It is not a prediction service, nor a substitute for medical, legal, financial or psychological advice. If you are going through a difficult situation, please turn to a professional or an emergency service in your country.
Methodology
- Astronomical calculation
- Planetary positions, the ascendant and the houses are computed with Swiss Ephemeris (the sweph library), the precision standard of professional astrology, using the birth date, time and place you provide and its historical time zone.
- House systems
- We use Placidus by default and Whole Sign as an alternative. When the birth time is unknown we compute a noon solar chart and omit the ascendant and houses rather than invent them.
- Decans and correspondences
- Correspondences between signs, decans and Minor Arcana follow the Golden Dawn system (Liber T): each 10° decan is linked to a numbered tarot card and its planetary ruler.
- Tarot
- The reference deck is the Rider-Waite-Smith (RWS, 1909). Upright and reversed meanings by theme (love, work, health, shadow) are written from the classic sources (Waite, Pollack, Greer) and reviewed before publication.
- Artificial intelligence
- Conversational readings are generated with language models via OpenRouter/OpenAI. The model only receives the editorial texts and the context needed for your query; the AI has no access to your email or payment data. See the AI disclosure for details.
