Book of Shadows

The Book of Shadows is the ritual notebook of Wicca. In the Gardnerian tradition it was a text passed by hand from initiator to initiate, containing rituals, invocations and the laws of the coven, faithfully copied by each new member. In modern solitary practice it has become a personal journal recording spells, herb and crystal correspondences, moon phases, dreams, tarot readings and reflections on each ritual. There is no single model: it can be a hand-bound notebook, a ring binder or a digital document. What matters is the consistency and honesty of the record kept.
