Herbal Magic

Herbal magic is the ritual use of plants according to their traditional symbolic correspondences: rosemary for protection and memory, lavender for calm, bay for success, cinnamon for prosperity. They are used in infusions, baths, smoke cleansing, sachets, oils and spell jars. It gathers folk knowledge from Europe, the Americas and other cultures, and draws on old herbals. The symbolic use should be kept separate from the medicinal one: many plants are toxic or interact with medication, so they should not be ingested without reliable information, and they are no substitute for the advice of a health professional.
