Chart Ruler

The Chart Ruler is the planet that governs the sign on the Ascendant. In traditional astrology it is the person's representative within their own natal chart, and the sign, house and aspects it occupies say a great deal about the direction of the life. For example, with Sagittarius rising the ruler is Jupiter, and its position shows where that search for meaning is expressed. A strong chart ruler, well placed and well aspected, tends to reinforce the coherence between what the person shows and what they live.
