Fall

Fall is the essential weakness of a planet placed in the sign opposite its exaltation. Thus the Sun is in fall in Libra, the Moon in Scorpio, Mercury in Pisces, Venus in Virgo, Mars in Cancer, Jupiter in Capricorn and Saturn in Aries. Tradition describes a planet in fall as someone who has lost their standing: it struggles to assert itself, and its qualities are expressed with insecurity or indirectly. With other favourable factors in the chart, that weakness can turn into sensitivity and learning.
