Lunar Nodes
The Lunar Nodes are the two points where the Moon's orbit crosses the ecliptic: the North Node, or dragon's head, and the South Node, or dragon's tail, always opposite each other. They are not celestial bodies but mathematical points, and they move backwards through the zodiac, completing the circle in about 18.6 years. Eclipses only happen near them. In the natal chart, modern astrology reads the South Node as what is familiar and inherited, and the North Node as the direction of growth that life proposes.
