Shadow Work

Shadow work is the practice of consciously exploring the aspects of the personality that are repressed, denied or projected onto others, following the concept of the shadow formulated by Carl Gustav Jung. In tarot it is carried out through spreads built around questions such as what am I avoiding, what pattern do I repeat, or which rejected quality could become a strength. Cards like The Devil, The Moon or the Nine of Swords often feature in these readings, not as omens but as mirrors. The goal is not to eliminate the shadow but to integrate it. It demands honesty and, in painful processes, the support of a mental health professional.
