Numerological Reduction
Numerological reduction is the basic operation of numerology: adding the digits of a number again and again until a single digit remains. For example, 1987 reduces to 1 + 9 + 8 + 7 = 25, and 25 to 2 + 5 = 7. In the Pythagorean school the process stops if 11, 22 or 33 appears, because they are master numbers. It is applied to dates, names, times of day and any figure one wishes to interpret. Its symbolic logic is that every complex number contains a simple essence from 1 to 9 that sums up its meaning.
