Numerology

Numerology is the symbolic tradition that gives numbers a meaning beyond quantity. It rests on the idea that the digits of a birth date or a name can be read as a language describing personal themes, talents and lessons. The most widespread school in the West is the Pythagorean one, which reduces any figure by adding its digits until it reaches a number from 1 to 9 or a master number. It is used as a tool for reflection and self-knowledge, not as a science or a method of prediction, and it is often combined with tarot and astrology.
