Outcome Card

The outcome card is the final position of a spread, summarising where the matter is heading if present conditions continue. In the Celtic Cross it is the tenth card, at the top of the vertical column. It should not be read as a fixed destiny, but as the probable consequence of the energies described by the other positions; for that reason an adverse outcome is an invitation to change course. If the outcome card is a court figure or seems ambiguous, some readers draw a clarifier. Honesty in interpreting it is the most demanding test of a reader, because the temptation to soften it is strong.
