Square
The Square is the 90° aspect formed between planets usually placed in signs of the same modality: cardinal, fixed or mutable. It is an aspect of tension and friction that produces obstacles, inner conflicts and an urge to act. Although it has a reputation for being difficult, modern astrology considers it the great engine of growth, because it forces movement and resolution. Many accomplished people have prominent squares in their charts. Four squares and two oppositions form a grand cross. Its usual orb is up to eight degrees.
