Aspect

An Aspect is a significant angle between two planets or points in the chart, measured along the zodiac. The major aspects of the Ptolemaic tradition are the conjunction (0°), the sextile (60°), the square (90°), the trine (120°) and the opposition (180°). They describe how the energies of the planets involved interact: with ease, with tension or by merging. To count as active, the angle does not have to be exact but must fall within a margin called the orb. Aspects are the grammar of the natal chart.
