Charging Crystals

Charging crystals is the practice of dedicating a stone to a specific intention after cleansing it. It is first cleansed with smoke, sound, water or earth, depending on what the mineral can tolerate, and then charged by exposing it to the light of the full moon or the sun, placing it on a cluster or holding it while stating the intention. Each stone needs to be known: selenite and calcite are damaged by water, and amethyst and rose quartz fade in sunlight. In magical tradition it is repeated periodically, especially with crystals used every day.
