Minor Arcana

The Minor Arcana are the fifty-six tarot cards organized into four suits: Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles. Each suit contains ten numbered cards, from Ace to Ten, and four court cards: Page, Knight, Queen and King. They describe the concrete circumstances of daily life, such as work, emotions, conflicts and material resources. While the Major Arcana mark the underlying themes, the Minors detail how those themes play out in practice. In the Rider-Waite-Smith deck every numbered card is illustrated with a full scene, which makes intuitive and narrative reading much easier than with plain pip designs.
