Tarot

Pages

The Pages are the first rank of the court cards and represent the energy of the suit in its learning phase: curiosity, inexperience, enthusiasm and openness. They usually symbolise children, young people or students, but also the arrival of news and messages, because in the Rider-Waite-Smith tradition the Page acts as the messenger of its element. The Page of Cups brings an affectionate proposal or an intuition; the Page of Swords, information that calls for vigilance. In the Golden Dawn system they correspond to the element of Earth within each suit, that is, to the initial and concrete manifestation of the energy.
