Kings

The Kings are the highest rank of the court and represent full mastery of the suit's energy, exercised outwardly through authority, responsibility and decision-making. The King of Wands is a visionary leader; the King of Cups, a counsellor who governs his emotions; the King of Swords, a rational and impartial judge; the King of Pentacles, a prosperous and stable administrator. Their shadow is the abuse of power or rigidity. They may indicate mature men of influence, authority figures, or the need for the querent to take charge. In the Golden Dawn system they correspond to the Air of each suit.
